Social Services
 
Services are provided at local Senior Centers and other sites with assistance from the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) office and include but are not  limited to:
 
Information and Assistance
 
Telephone Reassurance
 
Friendly Visiting
 
Outreach
 
Nutrition Education
 
Exercise or Physical Fitness
 
Wellness Education
 
Crime Prevention/Home Safety
 
Health Nutrition Screening
Local Transportation
 
Transportation is provided by Coos County Area Transit (CCAT) and Curry Public Transit through Dial-A-Ride and Fixed Route Buses for seniors, persons with disabilities and the general public. Contact your local Senior Center or South Coast Business Employment Corporation’s (SCBEC) AAA staff for more information.  For those over the age of 60 who can’t afford the fare, passes are available through the AAA office.
Assissted Transportation (Escort)
 
Intercity transportation to medical appointments and assistance, if needed, is provided by calling the AAA office.
Legal Assistance
 
Free legal assistance in certain areas of civil law is available to seniors with the greatest economic and social needs.  For more information, call the Oregon Law Center at (541) 269-1226 or (800) 303-3638.
